Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for consideration by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request are unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
